Fashion: 2017 Fashion Weeks Throughout Africa

African Fashion Week Toronto, as we all know, is a major fashion event in Toronto celebration and showcasing the work of local and international African fashion designers. In additon to this event, many of you might have heard of other international African fashion weeks that occur in other western cities such as New York, Washington DC, L.A, Miami and London. However, how much do you know about the many great Fashion Weeks that occur within the African continent?

Throughout the continent, fashion week events occur in most of the large metropolitan African cities. Like all fashion weeks, these events showcase both local and international fashion designers. They also provide an opportunity to expose local African brands to the international fashion market as well as buyers. They too also are major productions that attract sponsorship form international companies and are attended by high profile local and international celebrities. October seems to be one of the busiest months for fashion weeks held in African cities.

Here is a look at some of the past and upcoming 2017 fashion weeks within the continent...

Interior Design: Warm Colours to Heat up the Mild Spring Weather

Hi Afrofusioners! Jenny here with some tips on adding warm Spring colours to your living space.

Mother Nature is becoming really selective on the days she decides to maintain her weather choices. Her inconsistencies have not only affected our moods, but the need of redesigning our spaces to correlate with the season. Spring cleaning allows us to do more than just remove the clutter we’ve built up from the winter stress. It allows us flexibility in steering away from the all-knowing domestic design ideas, to more innovating, and entertaining decor...

Feelin' it of Nah?: African Print Braids

This looks so cool!

Ivorian artist Ky is making waves online with her creation of 'Ky Braids' which involves the use of  African print fabric in making braids extensions. This is such a creative idea for a bold eclectic hairstyle. She definitely thought outside of the box. It looks like the method used in adding the African print is wrapping it around the hair.

Beauty: Foundations for Oily/Deep Skin Review

Hi Everyone! Lakshmee here with with a review of some of the foundations I use that work best for oily/deep skin.

As a girl who is completely obsessed with makeup, I’m always trying new things and on a hunt for new amazing products. This week I went through all the foundations I own and decided to only keep the ones I use frequently. I’ve noticed that when I don’t reach for a specific foundation, it’s because there’s something about it that doesn’t work for me. Whether it has too red of an undertone or it's way too moisturizing for my skin, I realized that I had accumulated quite a collection of foundations. After ditching a few products, I was left with 3 foundations that I use for different occasions and happen to really like...
