Okaaayyy Beyonce! I see you! You are slaying that suit girl!
While attending Swiss Beatz’s Dreamweavers exhibition in LA last month, Beyonce came through with a show stopping look. Furthermore, this was not just any look, rather this was quite special is she wore and African print fashion piece by Nigerian American designer Ena Udemba from her fashion line EnaGancio Fashions. Moreover, what makes this even more extraordinary is the fact that Beyone and her stylist Zerin Akers found and handpicked Ena's fashion brand on Esty!
I just loved the fact that they are supporting black brands and chose to work with a lesser known, up and coming African brand...

FASHION: AAKS SS19 Season 5 Handbag Collection
Ghanaian fashion brand AAKS, founded by Akosua Afriyie-Kumi, recently released their latest SS19collection of beautifully weaved handbags, Season 5. I have been a fan of this brand for a while, so was excited to check out their latest collection, and it does not disappoint. AAKS weaved handbags are hand crafted in Ghana and incorporate a beautiful mixture of colours to achieve a sophisticated chic style.
In this Season 5 collection, the colourful theme continues with some additional stylish details. I especially love the unique style and shape of the tassels used in this collection. Continue to check out more pieces in this collection...

Men's Fashion: Ozwald Boateng 2018 'AFRICANISM' Collection
Celebrated British-Ghanaian tailor Ozwald earlier this year release his latest collection, 'AFRICANISM' which was unveiled at Arise Fashion Week. In this collection, Boateng creates an African aesthetic but in a modern way, which embodies African luxury celebrating rich African culture. Interestingly, though traditionally a menswear designer, this particular collection was made genderless thus suitable for all the sexes to wear. The collection mixed traditional English fabrics with traditional Ghanaian Kente fabric.

Fashion: TMP Fashion Trench Coat Styled for Fall
During the early Fall months when its getting colder but still a bit warm in the day, my go-to jacket is always a trench coat. This still allows me to stay warm in the cooler weather, while still being stylish.
Trenches are typically worn in a neutral colour, such as beige, black & navy blue. Although, one tends to gravitate towards coat in one solid colour, why not add some spice to it by getting one in a bold bright color or print! I have been wanted an African Print trench coat for a longest time, so was excited with I received this beautiful piece by the Lagos based Nigrian brand TMP Fashion. Founded in 2004, TMP Fashions offers a selection of top notch clothing, jewelry and accessories.

Fashion: Summer Time Fine in Makeda Couture
Yaaayyy!!! Summer is officially here!
It is now time to bring out all my cute, colourful summer outfits and of course my African fashions. One of my favourite African fashion designers is the Georgetown, Guyana based brand Makeda Couture. Makeda is the place to find African inspired clothing, fabric, design concepts and culture. They have such a diverse selection of high quality and stylish African fashions that cater to both male and female clientele. They also offer a selections of beautiful African inspired accessories to compliment you outfit.
I have a few pieces by Makeda and this green striped dress is my absolute fave! I particularly love the unique striped detail over the African print. So of course, to start off my style looks for the summer I had to feature this beautiful dress.

Spotted!: Tasha Smith in Rahyma Sleek at the 2016 BET Awards
This outfit is just too fab!!
The 2016 BET Awards went down last weekend, and all the celebrities in attendance showcase the fabulous fashions on the red carpet. Of these celebrities, we spotted Actress Tasha Smith rocking Toronto's very own African fashion Designer Rahyma Momodu Awanife of the Rahyma Sleek fashion label Harem Jumpsuit.
I'm so happy to see a talented Toronto African designer getting such big celebrity and international exposure. I've worked with Rahyma in the past as both our fashion lines were shot together for the cover of ELONN magazine some years back. Her designs are absolutely stunning! Rahyma Sleek was in LA during this time as part of the Zuvaa BET Awards Experience Pop-up shop, so it is no surprise that her fabulous designs caught the eye of many and ended up on a celebrity.

Miss G: Chic Afrique
This past weekend was my best friends wedding and I was blessed be a part of the wedding as a bridesmaid. It was an absolutely beautiful wedding and a fabulous weekend of celebrations! Now of course with every wedding, there is a lot of planning and preparations needed. When it is an African wedding, there is even more planning and prep needed to be done. Furthermore, as a bridesmaid in an African wedding, there is the stressful task of getting your getting your bridesmaid evening gown and also getting your traditional bridesmaid dress made...

Spotted! The Carter's 'Coming to America' in Style
In celebrating Halloween over the weekend, Queen B Beyonce and the rest of the Carter clan dressed up as characters from my #1 most favourite movie 'Coming to America'.
Jay Z looked very regal as Prince Hakeem, while Beyonce looked fab as a version of a rose bearer. Little Blu also joined in the family costume theme as cute mini version of Imani Izzi, high ponytail and all.
Check out all of their looks, plus info on the African designer Beyonce is wearing...
