Events: Summertime Shine Pop-Up Shop Recap

Hi fellow Afrofusioners! Keshia here with a recap of my experience at this wonderful pop-up shop event. 

To kick-start the summer, This past Sunday I had the pleasure of attending the "Summertime Shine ‘17” Pop-up Shop event at the fabulous Dash Boutique. Dash Boutique hosted 3 local designers who showcased summertime essentials for both men and women. While I sipped on some cocktails and enjoyed the live mix of music by a dj in-store, I had the pleasure of chatting with the designers and admire their fabulous merchandise...

Located on the West side of Toronto, Dash Boutique is a women’s clothing store that holds trendy and chic items from bikini covers ups to midi dresses from brands local and national brands, like Pink Martini, Lisa Todd and much more.

CREATE blk Lotus brings the eyewear game to whole other level. Not only do they carry a variety of unique designs, but their collection of eyewear are gender neutral, can be easily replaced with prescription lenses, and prices range from only $40 and up! As a wardrobe stylist, I am constantly exploring unique brands that are affordable and this is definitely one of them.

On to the 2^nd most essential item to add to your summer wardrobe: Swimwear! What’s trending are one-piece bathing suits from neutral to bright colors.  MAKOA is a fabulous ladies swimwear line that caters to women of all shapes and sizes. Their one-piece bathing suit was a hit at this pop-up shop event and were in high demand at this event at the cost of only $60!  No wonder this cute piece was flying off the racks.

Lastly, the 3^rd must-have to express your summertime fine is jewelry. If you're looking to add glitz and glam to reflect your individual style, Likha Luxe can customize a piece for you. Likha Luxe is a local Canadian jewelry line that designs custom handmade body jewelry, bralettes, necklaces and chokers.

This event was definitely a hit and got me excited for the summer. The wide range of gender neutral eye-wear, pool-party ready swimsuits, and diamond studded chokers has inspired new wardrobe styling ideas for this season.
