Travel Diaries: My Stay in Golden Tulip Accra Hotel

As you all know by now, I have been traveling to Ghana every year during the Christmas and New Years holiday season for the last few years. This is a trip I always look forward to, as they say, there is no place like home!

In my last few years, I have decided to try out some of the beautiful hotels the country has to offer. Since I have stayed in a number of great hotels within Accra as well as Kumasi, and have also visited hotels in Cape Cast and Aburi. One hotel that I have have had the pleasure of staying in while in Accra is the beautiful Golden Tulip Accra hotel.

Last Christmas I stayed at Golden Tulip for a few days; it was also my second time staying there. Here is a look back at my experience at Golden Tulip Accra hotel...

Hotel Design

One of the main features of this hotel that I absolutely love, is its beautiful Afrocentric interior design. The main lobby displays a beautiful collection of African art and sculptures.

Since I was there during the Christmas holidays, the lobby also included nice large Christmas tree displays.

Definitely my kind of Christmas tree! ;)

The Room

I stayed in a standard room with a Queen size bed and it was a pretty good size for confort. It had a simple modern design with enough walking room. I also liked that it had extra seating as well as an extra long desk.

An additional nice feature within the room was a coffee machine & kettle stocked with an assortment of tea. The room also included a sizeable mini fridge.

Moreover, the room included a nice modern en-suite bathroom which also included some complimentary toiletries for guests.

Amenities

Of course, in being a large major hotel, there were a number of great amenities available for guest to make use of. I would say one of the most popular features of Golden Tulip is their beautiful pool area. I definitely spent a lot of time lounging by it lol.

Furthermore, the Golden Tulip offers a great breakfast buffet which included a large variety of options. Breakfast service also has onsite chefs available to make fresh omelets, waffles and pancakes for guests, which is a nice added perk. As the main restaurant where breakfast is served is also by the pool, I usually chose to enjoy my breakfast in their outdoor poolside seating area.

In addition, among the hotel amenities are an indoor fitness center and a full tennis court.

You don't usually see a tennis court included in many hotels, so I thought I'd try a bit of playing it...boy was it harder than I thought! Especially trying to play in the heat, the struggle was real y'all lol. However, it was still a fun time learning to play with the on site tennis instructor they had present.

Overall, a wonderful stay again at the Golden Tulip Accra Hotel. Can't wait to return again!
