A few weeks ago, I attended the Supafrik Afrobeat Pop-up Shop and party at the Drake Hotel and had such a blast!
Attending along with my friend Nikki, during the event we were treated to a fashion show showcasing the latest collection from Montreal based Niapsou Design. In addition, a popup shop was set up for attendees to check out and purchase items from this collection as well as pieces from local African fashion designers such as Chinedesign, Papaya & co, Prince Pearl and Neck Couture....
Although the weather was not too great that day and the event taking
place on the rooftop patio, all those in attendance did not allow that
to ruin the fun. We all braved the colder weather and also did not let
slight rain stop us from having a good time dancing the night away.
The
day was filled awesome African fashion, good Afrobeat music and great
dancing. I also had a great time catching up with friends I hadn't seen
in a while as well as meeting cool new people. Simply put, it was all around cool vibes with great people.
