‘Tis the season for award shows! The 24th
Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards was a memorable night for all. From Sterling
K. Brown wining the award for outstanding performance by a male actor in a
drama series was one of my favourite shows (This Is Us) to Morgan Freeman’s
acceptance of the Life Achievement Award were just some of the historical
highlights of the show.
As many of you were, I was on style watch
from the very start! Here are 4 of my favourite looks from the 2018 SAG red carpet...
Yara Shahidi was the epitome of elegance.
From her natural tresses to her graceful stance in her black jumpsuit from the Ralph Lauren collection. This young
woman’s career is on the rise and so is her style game – Get it girl!

Daniel
Kaluuya really hit a big win at this year’s SAG
awards. Wearing Ermenegildo Zegna
black couture suit with velvet details, Daniel made history for young black
male and female actors. Winning Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a
Limited Series or Television Movie and Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor
in a Leading Role, Motion Picture. Last but not least, honoring both men and
women in the #metoo and #timesup movement by stating “It’s not about me.It’s
giving the floor to these women and men who have gone through this stuff, and
I’m here to support them and take a back seat.” #blackstars #BombMen
On to the couples!
Two of my favourite couples on the red
carpet were Sterling K. Brown and his
wife Ryan Michelle Bathe. Not only
was it a big win for Sterling in his role in “This Is Us”, but for his wife as
well. Ryan looked angelic in a white beaded gown from Gemy Maalouf and Sterling looked dapper in his Giorgio Amani tux. #CoupleGoals #BlackCouple
Another fav duo of mine is Samira Wiley and Lauren Morelli. The newlyweds looked stunning on at the award show
and wore pieces that complimented their own personal style. Their love,
strength and personalities shined through their gowns. Samira wore a Tadashi
Shoji dress and Lauren Morelli wore a classic long-sleeved ruffled dress.
