Feelin' it or Nah?: Lupita Nyong'o at the 2016 Met Gala

The 2016 annual Met Gala went down a couple day ago and all the A list celebrities were out in full force. This years' theme was technology, therefore celebs came decked in their representations of technology in fashion. There were many stand out looks on the red carpet and Lupita Nyong'o look was definitely one of them.

I've noticed that Lupita tends to rock green and emerald coloured looks a lot. This colour definitely compliments her skin tone, which must be why she is so drawn to this colour.

At this event, Lupita rocked an emerald Calvin Klein gown with touches of silver metallic. Along with her gown, Lupita brought an Afrocentric dimension to her hairstyle. This tall, tiered look is an Afrocentric style inspired by the traditional hairstyles of the Mangbetu ethnic group from Congo.

I'm definitely feeling this look! The Met Gala is meant for celebs to think outside the box in their fashion style. Lupita definitely accomplished this. I love how she stays true to her natural hairstyle and always comes up with interesting natural hairstyle looks using natural hair extension. Furthermore, I love that she always represents her African roots and incorporates Afrocentric elements to her style.
