The 2018 World Cup is fast approaching so there is huge excitement in anticipation throughout the the continent and abroad! In the last few days, the Nigerian Football team has been creating a lot of buzz with the release of the Nigeria World Cup team jersey kit by Nike on June 1st. The promotional campaign for this collection was definitely big with the use of major Nigerian stars such as Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Ihenacho.
According to Nike, the collection is inspired by the gold-medal winning “Dream Team” of 1996, and it celebrates a rich history as a new generation looks to make its own. The collection itself is pretty diverse with the inclusion of a travel suit, anthem jacket, training apparel, pre-game jersey, bucket hat, footwear, and kits. With all the excitement surrounding it, the collection was sold out in less than 3 hours with over 3 million pre-orders!
I'm actually really liking the design of it; it's quite unique, especially with the use of the cool grean floral print.
