Miss G: #OOTD Looks of the Week

Hello all my Afrofusioners! Hope everyone had a great weekend.

This past week I had a bit of a black and white stripes theme with my outfits. Stripes are one of this things that some people find hard to wear as it can sometimes not be too flattering. Some say stay away from horizontal strips, other say stay away from vertical strips. However, that does not mean that you should always shy away from it. Strips are great when worn the right way for your body.

For some reason, this week I was in the mood for some stripes, therefore I rocked it in 2 different styles.

Check them out!...

Sweater: Winners / Skirt: Sirens
This striped skirt provided nice details to a simple, neutral look. I like that it is not striped throughout, instead there is the added detail of two black sheer spaces at the bottom of the skirt. You can really see the sheer details here since I am wearing black tights under it, however will show through well with bare legs. This added detail make the very versatile in being dressed up or down.

Tip: Try to find striped pieces with addition details included it. This will help make your look more interesting as opposed to having plain stripes throughout, which is a bit boring.

Vest: Target / Shoes: Charlotte Russe
Necklace: The Bay / Bracelet: Suzy Shier / Watch: Skagen
Sweater: Target / Belt: The Bay / Watch: Skagen
This is one of my favorite sweaters! I always get asked where I got it from and people are surprised when I say Target lol. I lover that it is very versatile as looks great work open and also pairs well with a thin waist belt to wear it closed. I also like the mixed line details on it.

I am also all about mixing pattered, therefore I saw it fitting to match this sweater with a zig-zigged stripe dress. I think both patterned complimented each other well.

Boots: Timberland / Tights: Walmart

Dress: Winners / Necklace: Ardene
How do you like to wear stripes?
